Monireh Ganjali is Assistant Professor of laser physics at Biomaterials group, 
Nanotechnology and Advanced Materials Department, Materials and Energy 
Research Center (MERC).  I received a B.S. degree in Physics from Bu-Ali sina University 
and the M.S. and Ph.D. in Laser Physics from the Belarusian State University 
and National Academy of Belarus.  I have been active in the area of laser material 
processing and surface modification for over 6 years. I have published 12 papers 
in reputed journals and participate in more than 30 international scientific conferences.  

MERC has 74 faculty members. It possesses all the required facilities to carry out basic
 and applied research, together with the facilities to train specialists. Also, MERC has 
considerably laboratory instruments and the latest research devices together with 
experienced and proficient operators which are available to researchers and students. 
In recent years, MERC has attained a number of distinctions including its ranking in 2007
 as the second in the country for nano-materials research by the National 
Nano-Technology Development Office, and scientific achievements such as the best 
professor award and distinguished researcher award. 

MERC has also entered into bilateral agreements with organizations from abroad in 
order to facilitate exchange of research workers and training of PhD students as well 
as participating in joint research projects, e.g. The Shanghai Institute of Ceramics (China),
 National Institute of Silicon Technology (Pakistan), Center for Scientific Research and 
Development (New Zealand), University of UPM (Malaysia), National Academy of Science 
of Belarus,etc.
